FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC BAUCHI COUNCIL HOLDS INAUGURAL MEETING
The 12th Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi held its inaugural meeting. The Council members arrived on Sunday July 28th, 2024, and convened for their inaugural meeting on Monday 29th July, 2024.
The Council, appointed by the President, is led by Alhaji Mohammed N. Yahaya as Chairman. Other distinguished members include Hon. Abiodun Mafe, Hon. Abdullahi Dauda, Mr. Patrick Ogunyemi, and Mrs. Janet Olagbenro. Their wealth of experience and commitment to educational excellence promise to drive the Polytechnic to new heights.
During the meeting, additional members were inaugurated. These include:
– Abdulkadir Abubakar, representing the Alumni Association.
– Surveyor Mohammed Shehu Kardam and Comr. Usman Yusuf Dutse, representing the Academic Board.
– Suleiman Sa’idu Jahun, Comr. Ja’afar Ibrahim Dass and Comr. Abdulsalam Abdulwaheed Abdulfatah elected from the Polytechnic Congregation.
– Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Bauran Bauchi
, representing the community.
In a show of dedication to collaboration and inclusive governance, Chairman Alhaji Mohammed N. Yahaya led the Council to interface with various key stakeholders immediately after the inaugural meeting. These interactions included sessions with the Management Committee/Academic Board, Staff Unions, and the Students’ Union Government officials. The interface was part of the Council’s commitment to fostering a harmonious industrial and productive working environment.
Alhaji Mohammed N. Yahaya expressed his optimism about the Council’s ability to positively impact the Polytechnic, stating, “We are committed to working together with all stakeholders to advance the mission and vision of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. Our collective efforts will ensure we continue to provide quality education and foster an environment conducive to academic excellence.”
The Council was also taken round the Polytechnic campus for site seeing, where members expressed satisfaction with what they saw on ground of infrastructure and manpower.
Already various committees of the Council have been constituted and swung into action by holding their first meetings.
